WATERFALLS IN WINTER

If you love waterfalls, there are lots of exciting waterfalls in Tasmania and there are quite a few in close proximity to our property.  Just recently we decided to visit Guide Falls again (about half an hour from Table House).  In dryer times you can actually swim beneath the falls - as our kids did in January. They absolutely loved it. It’s hard to believe it’s the same waterfall now. There’s been so much rain (which of course makes all the waterfalls way more exciting) and the water is just thundering down.   You should take a picnic with you and make a day of it. I’m told nearby Sanderson Falls and St George’s Falls are also worth a visit. We didn’t know about them until after our visit but we’ll be sure to visit them on our next trip out there.

Dip Falls (about 50 minutes away) is equally spectacular. You need to take a picnic there too as there are no cafes anywhere nearby. There’s an excellent stairway which has been constructed down the side of the falls so you can get to see them from all angles.
